Our Response to COVID-19

Back to Latest News Page

On Friday, March 20 the Governor of Illinois issued a “Shelter In Place” ordinance, which included the closure of all non-essential businesses statewide. The statewide ordinance provides exemptions for certain businesses and industries that are deemed “essential services".

Norman Equipment Company is considered an essential service, supplying products to support critical military, energy, homeland security, medical, and pharmaceutical industries. Because of this, NEC will remain open and operating normal hours.

We take this responsibility extremely seriously, and we will continue our essential service with a high level of dedication.

We understand our responsibility to protect our Norman team, their families, our clients, and to “flatten the curve” in our communities. To do so, our team is taking the proper precautions to ensure that we have the right measures in place that are effective for all parties involved.

With the COVID-19 outbreak, we took precautions and have requested that all of our employees work remotely from home until the “Shelter In Place” ordinance is lifted - aside from a small team that is necessary to ensure the continuation in day-to-day functions to provide our essential service. As we gain more information from the local, federal, and state governments, we will reassess our next steps in ensuring the continuous safety of our team members.

Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to the men and women in the military, departments of health care workers, first responders, researchers, and volunteers who are doing so much to address this current crisis.

Sincerely,

Phil Netznik

President
